We are pleased to announce our Clinical Trainer Helen McCabe has been delivering MAPA training across the Midlands, a training course that teaches intervention techniques to cope with escalating behaviour.

The course identifies behaviour that indicates an escalation toward the aggressive and violent, and take appropriate measures to avoid, decelerate and/or de-escalate crisis situations. It enables you to:

  1. Assess the level of risk associated with crisis behaviour and make appropriate decisions related to the management of such risks.
  2. Use suitable and acceptable physical interventions to reduce or manage risk behaviour.
  3. Identify the impact of crisis events and describe post-crisis responses that can be used for personal and organisational support and learning.

Since Helen joined Newcross she has delivered MAPA training to a number of employees, enabling them to support our wide range of clients across the Midlands. Recently receiving fantastic feedback from our clients, Helen has been instrumental in increasing our employees skillsets and supporting our clients.

Nicola Murphy, Cardiff Business Centre Manager said, “Helen has really made an impact with the MAPA training she delivers, we constantly receive great feedback from our clients.”
