Joanne Chen Takes Leaps and Bounds in her Newcross Career

Joanne Chen, Trainee Business Centre Manager (Truro Complex Care Branch)

We’re delighted that another of our amazing employees have made the jump to Business Centre Manager. Here we take a trip down memory lane with Joanne Chen, realising the steps she’s made to achieve her recent promotion to Trainee Business Centre Manager for the Truro Complex Care Branch.

2015

Jo moved to the South West from Cheshire in 2015, where she joined Newcross as a Complex Care Coordinator.

“This role gave me a great understanding of our systems and allowed me to develop and build upon great working relationships – with both our staff and clients. I also got to know Newcross as a company, learning the ethos and standards expected of all employees to ensure great quality care to our clients.”

2016

With a year of experience under her belt, Jo began to branch out, taking on responsibilities beyond her role. It was then in April that she was given the opporunity to become a Complex Care Field Team Leader (FTL).

“As a FTL, I was then able to meet with the clients we had been supporting, and further strengthen that bond between branch and client. Meeting our clients was invaluable in enabling us to match staff appropriately and have a better understanding of their needs. This role also enabled me to establish contacts with other healthcare professionals involved in the care of our clients by attending MDT / review meetings.”

Jo then topped off an already successful year, with a promotion to Complex Care Quality Lead in December 2016. With her vastly growing knowledge and skills, Jo was ideally placed to ensure the continued quality of care within the company.

“This role places emphasis on compliance and ensuring that all aspects of the care that we deliver is of the highest and safest standard for both our clients and care staff.”

2017

And it is now with the greatest pleasure that we can now announce Jo’s promotion to Trainee Complex Care BCM for our Truro branch. With her wealth of experience, and her familiarity with the Newcross Philosophy of Care, Jo is a perfect fit for the Truro family, and will continue to bring excellence in care to the people across Cornwall.

“Being recently appointed the position of Trainee BCM for the Truro branch, I can draw on the wealth of knowledge that I have gained in each of my previous roles, enabling me to build on the foundations that have already been laid. I am very excited about my new role and am looking forward to working with some amazing people. We have a great team in place at Truro and together we are looking forward to watching the branch grow from strength to strength.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Claire Overton, Angela Jane and Mandy Hamilton. The support and encouragement I have been given throughout my time with Newcross has been invaluable, allowing me to grow within the business and develop new skills. Also, thank you to the all of the Complex Care team members, who have each individually played an important role within the business, and together we make an excellent team.”
