Children in Need 2010:Berry Pomeroy Triathlon!

Newcross office staff, nurses, carers, healthcare assistants and support workers to name but a few help raise money for CIN

Last Month our Head of Finance Steve Willis completed the 'Berry Pomeroy Triathlon' in aid of Children In Need. This year Steve decided to up the ante and invite the whole company to vote on what stunt he should do to raise money for the charity.  Last year he took a dip in our freezing cold 'haunted' duck pond, this year, the Berry Pomeroy Triathlon won the vote- Road/ Cycle/ Pond! -whilst sporting a Newcross Nurse's uniform and flippers of course!

Everyone from head office came out to support him and even the local press turned up! Steve commented 'It was a lot more tiring than I expected, cycling in flippers was certainly challenging and the pond was freezing, but it was for a great cause- I can't wait to find out what's in store for me next year!'

The highlight of the day had to be Company Treasurer, David Pritchard, joining Steve in the pond- totally by accident- after giving Steve a rather enthusiastic push into the water he lost his balance, fell in and got stuck in the reeds! The spectators didn't know whether to watch Steve swimming across the cold pond or David stuck in the reeds- it was very funny and was even caught on film!

Newcross branches across the UK all contributed to raising money for Children in Need 2010; some wore fancy dress and sold cakes and others pledged money to the charity in return for wearing home clothes to work.

In total we raised a huge £517.74 which includes the very generous pledge from Managing Director Michelle Pattrick to match all the money raised by the company.
