Children in Need 2011

Newcross is delighted to announce that as a company we have recently raised £1172.82 for Children in Need. Newcross CEO Stephen Pattrick and MD Michelle Pattrick kindly agreed to match the figure raised, therefore bringing the total to £2345.64!

Fun was had around the country at our various branches on Friday 18th November as staff raised money for a great cause in various fun ways!

Newcross staff dressed up as Disney characters

To get things started, Newcross CEO Stephen Pattrick and MD Michelle Pattrick organised a Disney themed fancy dress competition with a fantastic prize of a meal for two. Many Newcross staff stepped up to the challenge with the winner on the day being HR Recruiter, Kelly Gaffney, who made a fantastic effort dressing up as the Tinman from Wizard of Oz (she even sprayed her hair and face silver!). To see more photos of our staff in fancy dress, please see our Facebook photo album.

IT Manager, James Woulfe and Communications Officer, James Brooks rowing on the pond at Head Office

The team at Head Office had quite a performance when two employees took to the Head Office pond in a child's rowing boat. Meanwhile tomatoes for throwing at the pair were being sold to onlookers to raise money. Both eventually ended up out of the boat as you will see in the video below:

Raffle Prizes at the Torquay Branch

The Newcross Torquay branch ran a fantastic raffle with prizes including an entry to Living Coasts, tickets for two for the local pantomime opening night, an Aztec Spa voucher, 2 tickets for the "Hi Flyer" Torquay hot air balloon, wine, hair products, and many more. A big thank you to everyone in Torquay who donated prizes for the event!

Cakes ready to be sold in Taunton

We saw a lot of tasty cake on Children in Need day, with various branches putting on a cake sale to raise money for Children in Need. These included our branches in Taunton, Bristol, Plymouth, Exeter, and Liverpool.

We also saw some other fantastic events around the country including another raffle in Truro, a "guess Pudsey's birthday" competition in Aberdeen and a competition to win an extra day of annual leave run by our Scottish Regional Manager, Rose Lee.

Fun was had by all on Children in Need day, and most importantly we raised a fantastic amount of money for a great cause. We are already looking forward to doing it again next year!
