Excellence in Healthcare and Homecare Award winners announced
It is with great pleasure we can announce the winner of the Excellence in Healthcare Award for Q4 2013 as Munashe Mhembere from Woking branch. We are also delighted to reveal Melanie Pomeroy of Torquay as the inaugural winner of our newly launched Excellence in Homecare Award. Both Munashe and Melanie have been recognised for their delivery of exceptional care, and their representation of the values and standards Newcross prides itself on.
Munashe, a healthcare assistant from Camberley, is now the 12th winner of the Excellence in Healthcare Award, which celebrates its third year this year. Munashe achieved an incredible 100% in her recent staff assessments, and has been an integral contributor to the success of our recently opened branch in Woking. Feedback from clients was glowing, and Business Centre Manager Matthew Grayburn had no hesitation in nominating her for the quarterly award. Managing Director Michelle Pattrick RN echoed Matthew's endorsement, commenting that Munashe has "played a considerable role in showcasing the capabilities and benefits of Newcross staff throughout the Woking community".

We have always recognised the fantastic work that our staff members do for our clients, however we also appreciate that the delivery of exceptional care within a person's home may sometimes differ from that in an establishment. As we celebrate the continued growth of our homecare services, we have launched the new Excellence in Homecare Award, which will also be judged quarterly.
The very first winner of this brand new award is Melanie Pomeroy from Torquay. Melanie has worked for Newcross for over ten years, joining us in July 2000. Since then, she has become a key member of staff in our flagship branch and has regularly excelled throughout her time with Newcross. In recent months, she has been heavily involved in the support of a client transitioning to a new setting, where she has helped to foster and encourage their independence making her a worthy winner of this award. Michelle Pattrick, MD said of Melanie: "As a long-standing member of our healthcare and homecare teams, Melanie has continually provided exceptional service. Furthermore, her commitment to her current client has demonstrated the considerate and personalised approach Newcross prides itself on delivering to our homecare service users".

With the winners for each quarter of this financial year now decided, each recipient of the Excellence in Healthcare Award will be considered in the draw for the Annual Excellence in Healthcare Award, due to be announced in July. Munashe will be entered alongside previous winners Morag Greig, Dorothy McHardy, Rebecca Beal and Emma Cordiner.
We would like to wish all of our finalists good luck and thank them for their incredible contribution to Newcross!
