Make a difference to an individual's life
In this role, you'll be supporting a young man who has complex learning, medical, physical and sensory needs. He has gross developmental delay, epilepsy, food intolerances, severe learning difficulties, Pica tendencies and may express himself through challenging and self-harming behaviours. He must be supported at all times to ensure his safety and to ensure critical care needs are met.
You will be supporting him with personal care tasks, observations throughout the shift, communication and managing behaviours.
Shifts for this position are of 6 hours between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday, however, these may vary in line with family needs.
As a Community Support Worker you’ll bring
You have an ability to develop relationships with people and are adept at managing challenging situations. You combine a good knowledge of equipment and a talent for dealing with the specific circumstances and needs of each individual’s life.
- Passion, patience and understanding
- A desire to make a real difference to the lives of people in need.
- At least 3 months experience of caring professionally or for a loved one in the UK
- Comfortable assisting clients with limited mobility
- A valid Moving and Handling certificate.
- The right to work in the UK
- This position requires applicants to be registered with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
