Joining Newcross as a Support Worker in Hereford and the surrounds, you’ll take the variety and challenges that every day brings in your stride, with a positive mental attitude and brilliant sense of humour. You'll be aiding with personal care tasks, clinical requirements, feeding and PEG care, posture care, social activities and any other services. Keen to build lasting relationships with service users and their families while you provide support for them within their own home, you’ll be on hand to help with a variety of tasks. From support with health issues to trips into the local community, no two days will be the same.

The requirements 

With at least 3 months experience of caring professionally or for a loved one under your belt, and with a valid certificate in Moving and Handling, and the right to live and work in the UK. We also expect you to demonstrate our core values of positivity, trustworthiness, respectfulness, understanding, kindness, and calmness on every shift. Passion and determination to bring comfort and joy to our service users is a must. Access to your own vehicle would be beneficial, but is not a requirement. A smartphone device with internet connection. 

It is highly desirable that you have prior experience of supporting service users with challenging behaviours.

Please note: To work in a care home in England from 11 November 2021, the post holder is required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 unless clinically exempt.
