A Marathon Challenge for Charity

The end of September will see Business Centre Managers Theresa Thurlow and Steve Churches take part in the Loch Ness Marathon in aid of the Alzheimer's Society. While Theresa has one marathon under her belt, this will be Steve's first but both are expecting it to be a tough challenge.

Theresa in training small

"Training is going well, we're concentrating on 2 or 3 short runs during the week and a long run at the weekend building up the miles week on week. Steve hadn't run more than 3.5 miles in a school cross country race prior to training for this marathon but he's now up to 14 miles, however the recovery period can be up to two days!"

The route follows the south eastern shore of the Loch all the way into Bught Park in the centre of Inverness. The stunning scenery should provide the perfect background to such an intense challenge, but Theresa's hoping a quick glimpse of 'nessie' could make all the difference to their performance!

Alzheimer's disease affects so many people every year, and it's currently estimated that as many as 800,000 people in the UK could be living with some form of dementia. Both Steve and Theresa have close friends and family members that have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, so it's a cause close to both their hearts.

Newcross Healthcare CEO and MD Stephen and Michelle Pattrick will be matching the total amount sponsored, all the way to the target of £500.00, making a total potential donation to the Alzheimer's Society £1,000.00!

Please show your support for Theresa and Steve by making a donation to their Just Giving page.
