Newcross continues commitment to Investors in People standards
Newcross is deeply honoured to have once again been awarded the prestigious Investors in People Standard in recognition of its sector-leading employee management and development strategies.
The Investors in People Standard has been running for over 20 years, with the main aim of helping companies to be the best they can be in developing their employees, improving performance and reaching objectives through positive management. The award recognises the ways in which businesses, like Newcross, go beyond normal expectations in how they develop, support and motivate staff members.
This is an outstanding achievement for Newcross, and clearly demonstrates that continual improvement and development is a key priority for the business. The skills of each individual Newcross employee are paramount to Newcross’ ability to provide the highest standards and deliver first class care and customer service to all clients and service users. Receiving this accreditation is clear recognition that Newcross strives to support, develop and engage with all employees, thus continuing to fulfil Newcross’ commitment to excellence.

In early December 2013, Newcross was assessed against the Investors in People standards through face to face visits and phone interviews with employees from a range of areas of the business including Homecarers, Business Centre Staff, Head Office staff and Senior Management. These first-hand discussions were essential in showing a true insight into the ways that Newcross employees are supported as individuals, and they formed the main part of the assessment.
Some of the positive praise received was:
• The supportive, open and approachable style of Directors.
• The commitment of the staff team to the success of the company, particularly in relation to delivering targets and ensuring that the best possible care is provided.
• The pride that staff have in the reputation of the company.
• The way people are encouraged to put forward suggestions for improving the business.
• The clear objectives and outcomes set for people to work towards that have a transparent link from individual to organisational level goals.
• The development of staff linked to building capacity within the business and encouraging people to recognise and use their talents and experience.
HR Director, Tracy Willday says, “We first achieved the Investors in People Standard in 2001 – and since then the company has been subject to inspections every 3 years. We are delighted to say, we have not only achieved the required standards for the fourth time, but we have excelled in many areas.”
“It is our policy not to 'prepare' for the inspections as they should be a true measure of our day to day activities, so we are thrilled again to receive this recognition based on such an honest reflection of Newcross. There are always areas where we can improve and our assessor has also provided us with some interesting and innovative ideas to enhance our Employee relationship working together.”
