Newcross helps Light up a Life this Christmas

Newcross helps client Jospice light up a life at Christmas supporting all those who have received care and nursing from Jospice

On Sunday 12th December Newcross sponsored the St Joseph's Hospice Light up a Life event.  Jospice is one of the oldest hospices in the country, providing care and support to terminally ill people and their families from within the Liverpool and Sefton areas.

Founded by Father Francis O'Leary, St Joseph's Hospice (Jospice) opened in Thornton, near Crosby in 1974.  It was Father O'Leary's legacy to provide love and compassionate care to people of any faith and those without faith in the last weeks of their life. This commitment continues today, but as it is only partially funded by the NHS, fundraising is a vital part of the work at Jospice.

Christmas can be a very special time for sharing memories and thinking of those close to us. It is always very important to remember loved ones and absent friends. Being without loved ones is difficult all year round but it is at Christmas that you often need a little something extra to help you cope, and that is where Light up a Life at Jospice plays a part.

Ruth Bellis, Newcross Liverpool Business Centre Manager commented,' it was very heart warming to see hundreds of people turn up to support the Light up a Life event on Sunday. St Joseph's hospice is close to our hearts at Newcross, they do a fantastic job and we were honoured to sponsor this year's event'
