Newcross’ Louise “dips” for Dementia, raising over £500
Newcross Healthcare employee Louise Haswell has raised over £500 for Dementia Awareness and St. Benedict’s Hospice by going for a “dip” on Boxing Day at Seaburn beach in Sunderland. The event, which is run by Sunderland’s Lions Club, attracts over 1,500 “dippers” every year with up to five thousand spectators turning out to watch the spectacle.
Louise took part in the Boxing Day dip along with a group of family and friends who dressed up as “The Grand Old Duke of York”, resulting in them winning the prize for the best fancy dress.
The Lion's Club support a number of charities and has raised over £50,000 from the dip, some of which will be divided between the chosen charities of the prize winners.
Congratulations Louise and co!
