Bristol Complex Care HCA Scoops Prestigious Award

Anna

On Saturday, October 14th, in Bristol at the Ashton Gate Conference Centre, Anna Chrzastowska, one of our Bristol Complex Care Healthcare Assistants, accepted a prestigious award of healthcare award.

The 2017 Care Awards, with over 400 attendees, was held by Care and Support West, a representative body which promotes quality in Health, Social Care and Support Services. It is a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate the exceptional work done day in and day out by carers who make a real impact in their service user’s lives.

There were a range of nominations from service users who just wanted to say thank you to individuals, or would like to say what a positive effect their carers made on their lives, or nominations based on single instances of outstanding care and nominations based on continued help over time. The thing that characterised all these nominations was their heartfelt belief that their nominee is amazing and deserves recognition for the work they have done.

Of the over 200 nominees, only 60 carers were chosen to enter the finals for the incredible support and care they had given to both the service user and their families. Anna went on to win the award for Home Care Front Line, which celebrates a carer who delivers exceptional care in the Home Care setting. Since 2013 Anna has been a key member of the Bristol Complex Care Team, she regularly goes above and beyond and always delivers the very best quality of care to a range of our service users.

We spoke to Anna to get her reaction to winning, “I was so shocked to win, I never expected it or even realised what a big deal this award was, I’d like to thank Mrs Britten for nominating me.”

Stephanie Lansdown, Bristol Complex Care Manager said, “We are extremely proud of Anna for receiving such a fantastic award from Care and Support West. It’s wonderful to see her being nominated, let alone winning! It just further illustrates the incredible care, support and dedication she has for our service user and their family.”

Co-founder and Managing Director Michelle Gorringe said, “All of us at Newcross are overjoyed for Anna for winning this well-deserved award, she is a true representative of what Newcross stands for, and we’d like her to know how much of an asset she is to us at Newcross.”
