Carer Katie nominated for Pirate FM's Carer of the Year Award
Carer Katie O'Brien has been nominated by her colleagues in Plymouth Complex Care, Business Centre Manager, Michelle Damerell, and Complex Care Coordinator, Jo Taylor, to win radio station Pirate FM's 'Carer of the Year'.
Michelle told us:
"Katie has worked with us since September 2017. Not only is she skilled at what she does but is the most caring individual I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She is reliable, honest, and very knowledgeable about her role, which is to care for individuals with extremely complex needs.
"Katie always endevours to support when other staff are unwell or on holiday and her positive attitude never seems to be deflated.
"Katie works full time while having a child and other personal commitments, making her a very busy woman, but she always has a smile and her clients simply adore her.
"We feel that she is most deserving of this award and would be very proud to nominate her."
On Pirate FM's website, it says:
"Here at Pirate FM, we know there are people all over the Duchy who go the extra mile to help others in our community. We also know that some are doing quite extraordinary things, without even realising it!
"April 2019 will see Pirate FM host our annual Local Heroes Awards at Tregenna Castle Resort & Spa in St Ives. The annual awards are a great way for us to recognise the heroes of our communities and celebrate their achievements."
Congratulations to Katie on the nomination and we look forward to hearing how you get on in the coming months!
