It's Dress Down Friday and we're raising money for Samaritans!
It's 'Dress Down Friday' for Newcross office staff all over the UK. Last month, we launched casual Fridays to raise money for different charities chosen by a different branch every month.
Our charity of choice for February
A few weeks ago, we reached out to branches asking for suggestions for charities we could support as part of our Dress Down Friday fundraising campaigns.
Dress down for Janie
This month, we will be fundraising for Samaritans, a charity put forward by our Edinburgh branch. One of our treasured colleagues, and dedicated Support Worker, Jeanette 'Janie'Brechin, sadly passed away in a fatal car accident earlier this year. She touched the hearts of all who knew her and this is how Diana Boyd, our Edinburgh Business Centre Manager, and her team wish to remember her:
“We fondly called Jeanette, Janie. She was a wonderful lady; always going above and beyond and delivering superb care and support to our clients. She really was one in a million.
“We are feeling such a loss in branch and we know that her daughter and siblings, and her dogs Cleo and Blu, who she has left behind are very much feeling her loss too. As Janie was heavily involved with the Samaritans charity, we felt fundraising for them could be Janie’s lasting legacy.”
The Samaritans service offers confidential, non-judgmental support for those in distress. It was the world’s first telephone support service and now responds to calls for help every six seconds.
Well done to everyone who donated and dressed down today!
