Newcross dresses down for Macmillan
As Newcross office staff will already know, the last Friday of each month is 'Dress Down Friday,' where office staff wear casual clothes to work and donate to worthwhile causes for the privilege. This month we are dressing down for Macmillan, in aid of Newcross employee Nick Harris’ father, Roger, who lost his third battle with cancer before Christmas.
Nick, alongside his brother, cousins and their partners will be hiking the Jurassic Coast on 15th June to raise funds for Macmillan. The 26-mile hike is expected to take the group around 10 hours.
Nick is pretty confident he will manage this, strengthened by the memory of his quiet, yet ‘kind’ and ‘funny’ father. He hopes to raise over and above the fundraising target of £1,500, having already managed to surpass/achieve his fundraising target of £250 by £310.
Nick told us:
"Macmillan helped my father throughout his illness, both financially and emotionally, and for that, we are very grateful.
"It feels fitting to honour Dad in this way, and in so doing give more people the chance to fight this condition. Thank you so much to everyone who donates.”
