Newcross Healthcare launches 'Dress Down Friday' to raise money for Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust

Today is the first official Dress Down Friday for Newcross office staff, branch-wide. On the last Friday of every month, we'll be raising money for a different cause - and this month we are raising money for Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.

Log in to our Just Giving page and donate £2 for the cause.

This week it’s Cervical Cancer Prevention Week. Did you know? Every year 3,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer.

Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to women, their families and friends affected by cervical cancer and cervical abnormalities.

Cervical cancer is not thought to be hereditary. In 99.7% of cases, cervical cancers are caused by persistent infections with a virus called high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV). HPV is a very common virus transmitted through skin to skin contact in the genital area.

Around four out of five sexually active adults (80%) will be infected with some type of HPV in their lives. However, for the majority of women, this will not result in cervical cancer. While HPV infection is common, cervical cancer is rare.

Some information about Dress Down Friday:

  • All office staff will have the opportunity to dress down if they so wish, in exchange for a £2 charity donation via our charity Just Giving page.
  • Each branch will have the opportunity to vote for a charity each month - we will share a calendar in the New Year.

Please send your signed release forms for this week's Dress Down Friday along with pictures of you and your teams sporting your 'finest' casual wear tcommunications@newcrosshealthcare.com
