Newcross raises a brilliant £797.04 for Comic Relief 2013

Every other year we celebrate Red Nose Day with a day of fundraising to support the Comic Relief charity, and this year was no different. Under the banner of 'Do something funny for money', Newcross employees, as ever, showed their support in a variety of colourful and entertaining ways.

Though fun and merriment were the orders of the day, we had the greater motivation of contributing to a charity which transforms countless lives around the world. Through our efforts this year Newcross raised the incredible grand total of...


Our 'Dress up, dress down or be a clown' theme saw our people come to work in the most vibrant and absurd fashion. The clown costumes were plentiful, but there was no shortage of other brilliant and inventive outfits in our branches throughout the UK. Our Truro office held their own Scooby-Doo reunion, whilst there were visits from life-sized ice cream cones in Southampton - and we even had the crime fighting teddy bear, SuperTed, playing guitar in Totnes!  Scotland Regional Operations Manager Rose Lee received the accolade of 'Best Clown Costume' for her fetching yellow and blue number.

Competitions ran throughout the day, with CEO Stephen Pattrick donning his best clown attire to partake in the 'Spot-The-CEO Challenge'. At head office, the team took part in the first ever 'Newcross Tag-Team Turbo Cycle', with two teams competing in a fixed-bike race to 25 miles.
