Nurses' Day 2010
"For us who nurse, our nursing is a thing which, unless we are making progress every year, every month, every week, take my word for it, we are going back"
The 12th May 2010 marks Nurses' Day! This is a time to celebrate and raise awareness of the work of nurses and healthcarers- it is a day for nurses to feel proud and the rest of the world to say 'thank you'. It is a chance to build relationships, celebrate success and innovation. By getting involved at Newcross, we will be joining a global celebration involving millions of nurses and healthcarers around the world!
Those of you who work in the nursing and caring profession do an amazing job every day for which you should be very proud. Your hard work and dedication should be celebrated and what better day to do this on each year than on the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, who is widely believed to have been fundamental in establishing modern nursing as we know it today.
In my career as a Trained Nurse I have experienced the demanding and rewarding side of the profession, both mentally and physically and I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all our healthcare workers for the wonderful job you do everyday.
