Our Landmark 4,000th DBS Check

In 2016 Newcross took an exciting step and partnered up with uCheck. This is an online tool which runs DBS checks on job applicants, a crucial aspect to our vigorous recruitment process.

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service), formally known as CRB checks (Criminal Records Bureau), helps Newcross to make safer recruitment decisions. These checks enable us to be confident that are providing suitable people to our clients and service users. as many of them may be vulnerable or at risk.

Paul Jennings, Newcross’ Central Recruitment Manager said, “From day one, setting up the service to our 4000th check, uCheck have been a supportive, slick and friendly business to work with. We have seen processing speeds improve across all locations on our network since moving to U Check and when disclosures have taken a little longer, communication regarding delays has been timely and transparent.”

“As a fast growing business, we are regularly adding new accounts and locations to the service and have, on every occasion, had a speedy response to our requests. All of these factors make for a stress free process, leaving us to focus on other elements of our role, confident in the knowledge that uCheck have DBS' in hand”

Every Newcross branch, in England and Wales, contribute to this process to make it as smooth as possible, this team effort allows our employees to have a stress free joining process, and enables them to start their first shift as quickly as possible.

George Griffiths, the Director of Operations at uCheck said, “As Director of Operations here at uCheck I would like to thank all the team at Newcross Healthcare for being such a great organisation to work with. Based upon check volume you are one of our significant users and the fact that we have to query a minimal amount of applications ensures a swift process for all parties involved. It’s been a great 9 months, here’s to many more!”

We look forward to welcoming new applicants to Newcross over the coming months.
