Torquay Team Leader raises money for charity

A fantastic result for our Torquay team leader, Shabnam Dooley, who completed the 2013 London Marathon on Sunday in 4 hours 45 minutes!

Shabnam managed to run the tough 26 miles despite "hitting a wall" at the 15 and 19 mile mark, and kept powering on with the support of her family cheering her on from the side lines. The longest run she had completed in training was 16 miles - so 26 was a huge advance, and she even sprinted the final 600 metres.

"Crossing the finish line was amazing, really emotional...Once I received my medal I just literally laid on the floor."

Shabnam started training just after Christmas and has said for next year she said she would start training earlier. She has definitely caught the 'bug' and is keen to get her application in for 2014 when the ballot opens on Monday!

Massive congratulations on completing such a fantastic event and so far raising £1100 for Children with Cancer - The Mr Men and Little Miss Charity.

A medal well earned!
