Community Care - Case Study
Providing exceptional care and support to individuals in need.

At Newcross Healthcare, we are committed to providing exceptional care and support to individuals in need. One such case is that of SM, 38yo female, who sought our rehabilitation support following a workplace injury.
Before her injury, SM had been working as a production operative, where she dedicated 40 hours per week. She also had previous experience as a contract manager for a building merchants and had worked in office and administration roles.
On the 3rd of September 2024, SM experienced a severe workplace injury, resulting in multiple injuries. These included a fracture to her left femur, a crush injury to her left knee, fractures to her right tibia and fibula with an open wound to her right ankle, a fracture of her right foot and heel, as well as psychological trauma, high anxiety and distress. Additionally, SM sustained two fractures to her right fibula.
Newcross Healthcare was contacted to provide rehabilitation support for SM. She began receiving our services on the 17th of February 2025 and has already made significant progress. We initially completed meet and greets following the sharing of staff profiles to SM for review, ensuring SM felt comfortable with her new members to aid her high anxieties. From the selection of staff profiles, 2 care members were selected by SM and introduced. SM has built strong trusting, working relationships with both members which has significantly improved her anxieties and confidence. Thanks to the unwavering support and dedication of our carers, SM achieved a significant milestone within two weeks of Newcross support - she was able to go upstairs for the first time in six months since her injury, where previously she had made the downstairs of her property her living quarters due to the injuries sustained.
This achievement stands as a testament to the exceptional care and commitment provided by our carers. Their expertise, compassion, and personalised approach have empowered SM to regain her confidence and overcome the challenges she faced. Working closely with her and her physiotherapy plans in place, our carers have played a vital role in her rehabilitation journey to date. SM has also enjoyed gradual building of walks; From a step or two out of the front door with staff, to now managing much longer distances where every step is a milestone; SM is making exceptional progress in her rehabilitation.
At Newcross Healthcare, we are proud to have made a positive impact on SM's life, helping her regain her independence and work towards her goal of returning to employment. We remain dedicated to providing personalised care and support to individuals like SM, ensuring their well-being and facilitating their recovery.
