Job Title:Community Care Registered Mental Health Nurse

Reporting to:Community Care Nurse Manager

Location:Remote/Hybrid – working between home and community visits, ideally based around Newcastle upon Tyne and Sunderland (some wider travel required).

Hours:Full time – 37.5 hours per week

Salary:£42,500 per annum

Other Benefits:Bonus up to £3,000 per annum + Car Allowance £320 per month (+ mileage)

You are a passionateRegistered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)who wants to make a genuine difference in people’s lives. You thrive in a community care environment and are motivated by helping individuals with complex mental health needs live safely and confidently in their own homes.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the face of expert care– supporting service users, families, and carers to ensure compassionate, high-quality services.
  • Lead from the front– devising and implementing care plans, risk assessments, and essential documentation with a person-centred approach.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Manager– reviewing referrals, supporting service users after incidents, and ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high standards of care– acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring clinical competency sign-off.
  • Support and empower your team– providing leadership, supervision, and direction to Community Care Leads and Healthcare Workers.
  • Drive continuous improvement– working with the Community Care Nurse Manager to enhance care delivery.
  • Be solution-driven– managing crisis situations calmly and effectively.
  • Take ownership– conducting investigations and offering on-call support (approx. one week in ten).

The Skills That Make You Different

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration.
  • Experience in settings such as community, crisis intervention, acute, rehab, forensics, or CAMHS.
  • Expertise in managing complex cases, risk assessment, self-harm prevention, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Knowledge of national care regulations (CQC, Care Inspectorate Scotland/Wales).
  • A confident leader, capable of mentoring others and ensuring quality care.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable working remotely using digital tools.
  • At least two years of post-qualification experience in a similar role.
