Who are you?

You are a commercially minded finance leader who thrives on influence and impact. You want more than reporting numbers. You want to shape decisions, strengthen performance, and play a meaningful role in a purpose driven organisation.

This is a key leadership role where you will own day to day financial operations, ensure strong controls and compliance, and partner with senior leaders to deliver insight that drives smarter decisions and sustainable growth.

What will you do?

A full job description is available, but below are some of the key responsibilities.

Financial management and reporting

  • Deliver timely and insightful monthly management accounts including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Lead the preparation of year end statutory accounts under UK GAAP or IFRS.
  • Manage external audits and act as the main point of contact for auditors.

Controls, compliance and governance

  • Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with UK tax and statutory obligations.
  • Oversee VAT, corporation tax, HMRC submissions, and support accurate research and development claims.
  • Review and improve financial processes and systems on an ongoing basis.

Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow

  • Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting cycles.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to improve financial performance.

Team leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and payroll teams.
  • Set clear objectives, run performance reviews, and promote best practice.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to provide commercial insight and financial analysis.
  • Support investment appraisals, strategic projects, and system implementations.
  • Partner with operational teams on modelling, rate changes, and tender submissions.

What we are looking for

  • A full accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, with at least five years post qualification experience.
  • Strong experience managing audits, statutory reporting, and complex financial processes.
  • In depth knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with finance systems or ERPs. Finance transformation experience is a plus.
  • A proactive and analytical mindset with strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience in healthcare, resourcing, group reporting, or international operations is desirable but not essential.
