We are seeking a skilled and compassionate support worker to join a well-established care team supporting a client living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in a warm and welcoming home environment. The client, is a former RAF pilot with a rich personal history and a strong sense of independence. Communication is central to their care, and staff must be quick to learn and proficient in using an E-Tran board to ensure effective interaction.
Your Role: Supporting Independence, Enriching Lives
As a Community Care Worker, you will provide life-enhancing, person-centred care to people within their own homes in Stamford. Your compassion and dedication will help people live safely, with dignity and independence in their own homes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care with empathy and respect
- Support with advanced clinical needs including PEG, tracheostomy, NIV, oral suction, bowel care, pulse oximetry, medication administration (including rectal), pressure area care, and buccal midazolam
- Engage with AC’s interests, including food planning, sports, and technology (Apple devices)
- Promote autonomy and involve AC in all aspects of care and decision-making
- Ensure continuity and consistency in care delivery
What we’re looking for:
- At least 6 months of paid professional care experience (or personal care experience in the UK)
- Confidence supporting individuals with limited mobility
- A valid driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- The right to work in the UK
- Experience with complex care (preferred but not essential, full training provided)
- Registration: Applicants in Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland will require the relevant registration (e.g., SSSC, SCW, NISSC). Not applicable in England
- Ability to understand both verbal and written English to follow care plans and communicate effectively
- Qualities: Empathy, Integrity, Respect, Teamwork and the ability to deliver exceptional care
