About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced External Quality Assurer (EQA) to support the quality assurance of Health and Social Care qualifications across a range of centres. The EQA will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and consistency of assessment and delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory and awarding body standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct external quality assurance visits (remote and/or in-person) to approved centres delivering Health and Social Care qualifications.
· Monitor and evaluate assessment and internal quality assurance practices to ensure they meet required standards.
· Provide constructive feedback and support to centres to promote continuous improvement.
· Ensure timely completion of reports and documentation in line with awarding organisation policies.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of sector developments, qualification frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
· Participate in standardisation activities and contribute to the development of quality assurance materials and guidance.
· Act as a point of contact for centres, offering guidance on best practice and compliance.
Essential Criteria
· Recognised qualification in Health and Social Care (Level 4 or above).
· Assessor qualification (e.g. CAVA, D32/33, A1) and Internal Quality Assurance qualification (e.g. IQA, V1, TAQA)
· External Quality Assurance qualification (eg D35, V2 or TAQA EQA qualification)
· Experience in assessing and/or quality assuring Health and Social Care qualifications.
· Strong understanding of Ofqual and awarding body requirements.
· Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage a flexible workload.
· Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
Desirable Criteria
· Experience working with a range of awarding organisations.
· Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and End-Point Assessment (EPA).
· Experience in digital/remote quality assurance processes.
